Like with cars, in order to legally ride a motorcycle on public roads you
need to have at least third party insurance cover in place, this is to cover
the cost to other people and property in the event of an accident in which
you are at fault. This is an absolute minimal level of motorcycle insurance
cover, and most people will choose to take out a more extensive policy.
Motorcycles are by their nature relatively easy to steal when compared to
cars, and they can easily be as valuable as such covering your motorcycle
against theft is a sensible idea.
Motorcycle Insurance:
The amount that your motorcycle insurance costs you will depend on a number
of factors, including your age, how long you have held a motorcycle licence,
where you live and of course the bike that you are insuring. Of these factors
it is your age and the type of bike that have the biggest influence, a 21
year old looking to insure a Fireblade is going to find it difficult to
even get a quote, however if you have a good no claims discount and a more
run of the motorcycle you should find that there are cheap motorcycle insurance
policies available to you.
